Earlier this year she was awarded the Nicola Barry award at the Scottish Press Awards for her campaigning journalism. She focuses mainly on social issues, and has covered homelessness and the Serco evictions in depth.

Shelter Scotland calls on Glasgow City Council to meet its legal obligation to the city’s rough sleepers
Today [19 August 2019] Shelter Scotland handed in a letter to Glasgow City Council calling on it to end the unlawful practice of denying homeless people temporary accommodation. It cites 3365 instances where homeless people were turned away without being offered a bed for the night. The letter was delivered by a delegation of people who have experienced homelessness.

GOVERNMENT statistics released this morning [26 June] show a 3 per cent rise in homelessness applications to local councils in Scotland over the last year, the second year running that the figures have increased.
This comes as councils continue to dramatically overhaul the existing homelessness system towards a rapid rehousing policy and eventually a Housing First model.
